Anyone else noticing a hiring freeze/slowdown?

Hey everyone, posting anonymously here. I've been with Allegion for a few years now, and things have felt... different lately. We had a lot of open reqs a few months back, but now it seems like everything is on hold. I've heard whispers about budget reviews and a general tightening of the purse strings. My manager is being cagey when asked about new headcount, just saying 'we're reassessing priorities.' Has anyone else on the industrial side encountered this? Feels like a potential precursor to something, though I have no concrete info. Just an uneasy feeling in the air. Curious if others are seeing the same thing across different departments or locations.

Yeah, I've definitely felt a shift here at Allegion too, though I'm in a different department. A few months ago, it seemed like the floodgates were open for new hires, but now there's a noticeable pause. Conversations about new roles or expanding teams have gone quiet, replaced with more cautious language about resource allocation and existing project importance. It’s creating a bit of uncertainty, for sure. Curious to see how long this period lasts and what the strategic reasoning behind it might be.

Interesting to hear this feedback about Allegion. From my perspective, the hiring pace has certainly slowed. It used to be that roles were being filled relatively quickly, but now there seems to be more internal deliberation and a longer review process for any new positions. My team hasn't gotten approval for additional headcount we were hoping for, so it aligns with what others are seeing. Hopefully, it's just a temporary recalibration and not a sign of bigger issues down the line.
