Is anyone else seeing a hiring freeze at Allstate?

Been trying to backfill a couple of open roles on my team for months now. HR keeps saying there are no approved requisitions. Usually, it's a few weeks, maybe a month or two for critical hires, but this feels different. It's like they've just put a blanket pause on everything. Anyone else hearing similar things from their managers or HR business partners? Trying to figure out if it's just my department or a company-wide thing. It's starting to make planning for next year really difficult.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling it too. My team's been trying to get a senior data analyst role approved for almost three months now. HR's been giving us the same 'no approved requisitions' line. It's not just you; it seems like a pretty widespread hiring slowdown across the board. Makes you wonder what the financial outlook really is, or if they're just restructuring things significantly. Definitely makes Q4 and next year's planning feel like a shot in the dark.

Hmm, a blanket pause? That's a bit dramatic. While it's true hiring can be slow, especially for non-critical roles, maybe it's a sign of budget tightening or a review of headcount needs. Have you escalated with your director or VP to emphasize the critical nature of these roles? Sometimes it just takes higher-level buy-in to get requisitions approved, especially if the business case isn't clear enough to HR. Could also be that they're waiting for the new fiscal year budget to be finalized.
