Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. My bonus was significantly less than last year, and honestly, it's a bit demotivating after putting in the work. My manager also seemed a little sheepish about it. I'm wondering if it's a broader economic impact they're citing, or if it's a strategic shift in how they're allocating profits. It's tough when you're feeling the pinch everywhere else and then the bonus doesn't quite match expectations.
Interesting. I haven't gotten my review details yet, but I'll keep an eye out. My understanding was that 'discretionary' meant it wasn't guaranteed, and maybe the company's overall financial performance this year wasn't as strong as anticipated, leading to a smaller pool to draw from. Could be a sign of tighter times ahead, or maybe just a one-off fluctuation. Hopefully, it picks back up next year.
