I've noticed the same trend in the broader consumer staples sector, and it wouldn't surprise me if Altria is following suit. There's a lot of economic uncertainty right now, and companies often become more conservative with hiring during these times. It's a sensible approach to manage costs and ensure stability. Hopefully, it's just a temporary measure and things pick back up soon.
It's definitely concerning to see fewer new openings, especially if you're looking to join the company or are already there and anticipating growth. While official announcements might be absent, the unofficial signals can often be more telling. Could be a strategic pause, or perhaps a sign of shifting priorities within the company. Interesting times for sure.
