Altria: Performance reviews and future outlook

So, performance review season is here, and the vibe this year feels different. Usually, it's a pretty standard process, but this time around, there's a lot more emphasis on 'efficiency' and 'impact.' My manager was pretty cagey when I asked about future projects and team growth, just kept saying 'we're assessing all areas.' Meanwhile, I've noticed a freeze on non-essential travel and a real tightening of the budget for training and development. It's hard not to connect the dots when you see these kinds of signals. I know the industry as a whole is facing challenges, but I'm wondering if anyone else feels like Altria is perhaps more exposed than we're letting on publicly. Just looking for some candid thoughts from fellow employees.

Yeah, I'm feeling that 'efficiency' push too. It's a bit unsettling when they get vague about future plans. Makes you wonder what's really going on behind the scenes. The budget cuts for training are a bummer, especially when we're supposed to be developing new skills. Hopefully, it's just a temporary belt-tightening and not a sign of bigger shifts.

The emphasis on 'impact' sounds like they're trying to squeeze more out of everyone. My team's been told to focus on deliverables that show immediate ROI. Less room for experimentation, which is a shame. The travel freeze is definitely noticeable. Makes me nervous about potential reorganizations or layoffs, even if they say otherwise.
