It’s honestly pathetic to see the blame shifting. Management loves when the rank and file fight each other because it keeps everyone from looking at the leadership failures that actually caused these layoffs. These people are your colleagues, not the reason the company is struggling to manage its headcount. If you're spending your energy attacking visa holders instead of questioning why the higher-ups are failing to hit their targets, you're exactly the kind of distraction corporate relies on to keep the status quo intact.
I've been in the Jersey City office for a while now, and the toxicity in the chats lately is at an all-time high. It feels like every time there's a round of cuts, people lose their minds and start looking for a scapegoat rather than realizing that none of us are safe regardless of our citizenship status. It's embarrassing to see teammates turn on each other over corporate narratives that are clearly just meant to excuse poor planning and executive mismanagement.
