Jersey City office: Did anyone hear anything official today?

Saw the WARN notice about the 55 people being let go in Jersey City. It’s been eerily quiet on the internal channels, and the leadership syncs are just business as usual like nothing is happening. I’ve been hearing whispers about certain teams in e-commerce getting their scope reduced, but it’s impossible to tell if that 55 count is the end of it or just the first wave. My manager isn't saying a word, just giving the standard 'focus on your deliverables' spiel, which is honestly more nerve-wracking than if they were being transparent. Is anyone else in the JC office feeling the shift, or is it just my department that’s suddenly walking on eggshells? I know we aren't the biggest hub, but it feels like the axe is just slowly circling us now. If anyone has intel on whether this is actually tied to the broader global cuts or if this is a specific team restructuring, please drop a note. I'm just trying to figure out if I need to start grinding the resume out this weekend or if I'm safe for another quarter.

The silence from leadership is the most frustrating part of this entire situation. It’s always the same script: ignore the elephant in the room and pretend everything is fine while people are losing their livelihoods. If they are cutting e-commerce teams now, it’s highly unlikely that 55 is the final number. Most of us are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. The ambiguity makes it impossible to focus on daily tasks when you are constantly wondering if you will be the next one receiving an invite to a surprise meeting.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an official word. Amazon has a long history of handling these things behind closed doors until the very last second. That 'focus on your deliverables' line is just a stalling tactic used to keep productivity up while they finalize the next batch of cuts. My advice is to update your resume and start networking quietly outside the company. Don't assume you are safe just because you haven't been tapped yet. The lack of transparency is standard procedure, so plan for the worst.
