Hey everyone, posting anonymously here. Been with AEP for a few years now, and lately, the atmosphere just feels... different. Not sure if it's just my department or if it's broader, but there's definitely a tension in the air. Budgets seem tighter, project scopes are being re-evaluated more than usual, and there's a general sense of 'hurry up and wait.' I haven't seen any official announcements or heard concrete rumors of layoffs, but it's hard not to feel uneasy. Is anyone else picking up on this? Are your teams facing similar pressures? Curious to hear what others are seeing, especially concerning Q4 and moving into next year. Just trying to gauge the general sentiment and see if it's a shared experience or if I'm overthinking things. I'm feeling it too, or at least I think I am. It's more of a gut feeling than anything concrete. Things seem to be taking longer to get approved, and there's a lot more scrutiny on expenses across the board. I've noticed more 'can we do this cheaper?' conversations than before. Maybe it's just the economic climate affecting everyone, but it does feel a bit like we're being asked to do more with less. Hopefully, it's just a temporary adjustment.

Yeah, the 'hurry up and wait' is spot on. We've had a few projects get delayed unexpectedly, and then suddenly everyone's scrambling to catch up. There's a lot of talk about efficiency and streamlining, which sounds good on paper, but in practice, it feels like a lot more pressure on the existing teams without a clear path forward. Trying to stay positive, but it's hard not to notice the shift.
