AEP - Anyone else seeing hiring freezes or slowed recruitment?

Lurking for a while, first time posting. I've been keeping an eye on AEP's job postings and noticed a significant slowdown in new roles opening up over the past couple of months, especially for experienced positions. Also, some roles that were posted seem to have disappeared or have been 'under review' for a long time. My understanding is that recruitment is often an early indicator of potential workforce adjustments. Has anyone in HR or management, or even just folks who've recently interviewed or been through the hiring process, noticed anything unusual? Are there internal hiring freezes in place that aren't being publicly announced? Trying to understand if this is a broader trend or just a seasonal dip. Any information would be helpful in planning ahead.

I haven't personally experienced a hiring freeze at AEP, but I've definitely noticed fewer postings than usual for my department in the last quarter. It's possible they're being more strategic with their hiring, focusing on critical roles or consolidating teams. Sometimes, roles disappear because they're filled internally or the requirements change. Hang in there, things can fluctuate quickly in large organizations.

Interesting question. While I haven't heard of a formal freeze, there's definitely a sense of caution around here. Budgets are being scrutinized, and new hires are requiring more approvals than they used to. It could be a general economic slowdown affecting utility companies, or perhaps AEP is re-evaluating some of their long-term projects and staffing needs. Keep an eye on their investor relations updates; those sometimes hint at operational changes.
