Amex - Concerned about recent project freezes

Is anyone else at Amex noticing projects getting put on hold or scaled back significantly? My team was working on a major initiative that just got indefinitely paused this past week. No real explanation, just that 'priorities have shifted'. This is on top of hiring freezes in a few departments that were previously expanding. I'm in [Division - e.g., Operations, Product Development] and we were supposed to be ramping up for Q4. Now, it feels like we're treading water. Wondering if this is a sign of deeper financial concerns or just a standard budget recalibration. It's making it hard to plan and stay motivated when the roadmap keeps changing without clear reasons. Feels like a lot of uncertainty is brewing beneath the surface.

Yeah, I've been hearing similar rumblings across different teams. It's definitely unsettling when initiatives you've poured a lot of effort into just stop without clear communication. Feels like a general sense of belt-tightening, and the lack of transparency is making it hard to plan or even stay motivated. Hopefully, there's a clear strategy behind these shifts that will become apparent soon, but for now, it's causing a lot of uncertainty.

I'm in a different division but have also noticed a slowdown and project reprioritization. It's tough to get a definitive answer, but the market's been volatile, and I suspect the company is being cautious. We were expecting to onboard new hires for a product launch, and that's been put on hold indefinitely. It's a frustrating situation when you feel like you're losing momentum, and there's a disconnect between what we were told and what's happening now.
