I've been seeing something similar, actually. I'm not in recruiting, but I do work with a few teams that have been trying to backfill positions. It definitely feels like the pace has changed. There's less urgency, and some roles that were open for a while have just disappeared. It might just be a seasonal thing, or maybe they're reassessing priorities internally. Hard to say without being on the inside, but your observation aligns with what I've noticed from the outside.
Interesting point. From my perspective, it feels like a shift towards more internal mobility and potentially fewer net new hires. Companies are often optimizing their workforce, and sometimes that means filling existing gaps internally before opening up new external searches. It could also be that they're being more selective with their hiring, focusing on very specific skill sets rather than broad recruitment. Worth keeping an eye on those internal job boards too if you're looking to make a move.
