I've definitely noticed the shift too. The last review cycle felt unusually detailed, with a lot of focus on metrics that seemed to come out of nowhere. The 'streamlining' talk is constant in my department, and while no one's saying layoffs, the atmosphere is certainly more anxious than it used to be. It's unsettling when the usual communication channels aren't providing clear answers.
Interesting to hear someone else is feeling the pressure. My division has been hit with some pretty aggressive restructuring targets. The 'efficiency' push feels like it's leading to more work with fewer resources, which is a tough balance. I'm trying to stay positive, but the underlying tension is palpable. Makes you wonder what the long-term strategy really involves.
