Ametek - Anyone else notice the hiring freeze whispers?

Hey everyone, been at Ametek for a couple of years now in the [mention general division/product line if comfortable, e.g., electronic instruments] side of things. Lately, I've been hearing more and more chatter, mostly in hallways and over Teams chats, about a pretty strict hiring freeze across several departments. My manager skirted around direct questions when I asked about a role we were trying to fill, just said 'resource reallocation' and 'prioritizing essential functions.' It feels a bit more than just normal budget tightening. Anyone else in different divisions seeing this? Are you also hearing about increased scrutiny on new hires or even a pause on some roles that were supposedly open just a few months ago? Wondering if this is a wider thing or just specific to my area.
