Feeling the whispers... Anyone else hearing layoff rumors at Ametek?

Hey everyone, been at Ametek for about 4 years now in the engineering division, specifically working on the X-1000 project. Lately, things have felt... off. My manager's been super cagey about Q3 targets, and I've overheard a couple of hushed conversations in the breakroom about 'restructuring.' Nothing concrete, but the vibe is definitely shifting. Anyone else in different departments or locations picking up on this? Just trying to get a pulse on what might be coming down the pipeline. Trying not to jump to conclusions, but my gut is telling me something's brewing.

I haven't heard anything specific about layoffs on the East Coast, but I can definitely relate to the 'off' feeling. My team's been dealing with a lot of shifting priorities and some projects are being re-evaluated. It's the uncertainty that's the worst, isn't it? I've been keeping my resume updated just in case, and trying to focus on delivering my best work. Hopefully, it's just a temporary slowdown or some internal shuffling, but it never hurts to be prepared. Keep us posted if you hear anything more concrete.

Honestly, I'm not really feeling it. Been with Ametek for longer than you and have seen these 'whispers' before. Usually, it's just end-of-quarter jitters or a reorganization that doesn't actually impact headcount. Managers get cagey when they don't have all the answers or when there's internal politics at play. 'Restructuring' is corporate speak for a lot of things, not all of them bad. Unless you see concrete numbers or official announcements, I'd take these rumors with a grain of salt. Focus on your work, it's the best defense.
