Is the Madsen Dr site the only one taking the hit?

With the news about the 63 employees getting cut in Bloomingdale, I’m trying to figure out if this is isolated to the Illinois facility or if we are looking at a broader regional consolidation. My manager has been acting like a ghost for the past 48 hours, and any question about our team's headcount stability gets met with 'we're focused on operational efficiency.' We all know what that corporate speak means. I’ve been at Ametek for five years and I’ve never seen the anxiety levels this high across the board. Is anyone in other divisions seeing similar patterns, or is the company focusing purely on trimming the industrial group? Just trying to get a read on if I should be preemptively updating my resume or if I’m just being paranoid. Any intel from the other sites would be appreciated.

It is definitely not just the Madsen site. I’ve been hearing rumblings from multiple divisions across the Midwest, and it feels like the 'operational efficiency' line is just a cover for a widespread restructuring plan. When management starts going ghost, you know the writing is on the wall. My advice is to update your resume and start networking immediately because they are clearly clearing the decks to protect their margins regardless of how many people they have to let go.

Look, try not to panic too much until you hear something concrete. Corporate communications are always vague to avoid lawsuits and premature panic, but they definitely use buzzwords to soften the blow. While it sucks that Bloomingdale is taking a hit, these companies often target specific underperforming segments rather than sweeping across the entire org chart. Just keep your head down, do your work, and watch your internal portal for official updates. If they start holding town halls, that’s when you should really start worrying.
