Amgen - Anyone else getting the 'performance review' talk?

Just had my annual performance review, and it felt... intense. My manager was really drilling down on 'impact' and 'efficiency,' which is fine, but the tone felt more like a justification for potential cuts rather than standard feedback. It's been a solid year for my team's projects, so I wasn't expecting this kind of scrutiny. It's making me wonder if this is happening elsewhere in the company. Are managers being prepped to start documenting performance issues or to identify 'lower performers'? It's not a layoff *report*, but the timing and the language used have me on edge. Anyone else have a similar review experience recently, or am I just reading too much into it?

Yeah, had mine last week. Definitely felt the same vibe. Lots of focus on 'measurable outcomes' and 'resource optimization.' It felt less like a developmental conversation and more like they were building a case for something. My team delivered, too, so it was a bit of a surprise. Hoping it's just a company-wide shift in how reviews are conducted and not a precursor to layoffs. Curious to hear if others are experiencing this too.
