Anyone else at Amgen feeling the pressure lately?

Hey all, been at Amgen for a few years now in R&D. Lately, it feels like the expectations for what needs to be accomplished in a given timeframe have really ramped up. Project timelines seem shorter, and there's a constant push for 'more with less.' I've noticed some teams seem stretched pretty thin. Is this just my perception, or are others experiencing this intensified pressure? Curious if it's a company-wide thing or specific to certain departments. Not hearing any official layoff talk, but the vibe is definitely... tense. Wondering if this is a precursor to something or just a business cycle thing. Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah, I'm feeling it too, especially in the last year or so. The pace definitely seems to have picked up across the board. It's like the goalposts keep moving, and it's a challenge to keep up without sacrificing quality or burning out. Management keeps talking about innovation and efficiency, which is fine, but the resources and time don't always seem to align with those ambitious targets. Hoping it's a temporary surge and not the new normal.

Definitely not just you. I've heard similar sentiments from colleagues in different divisions. There's a sense that the company is really pushing to hit certain milestones, and that translates directly down to individual teams and projects. It's created a high-pressure environment where everyone is expected to deliver, and the timelines are getting tighter and tighter. Trying to stay positive and focused, but it's tough when you feel like you're constantly running uphill.
