Anyone else feeling the Amgen vibe lately?

Been hearing whispers and seeing some internal stuff that just feels... off. Not hearing any concrete layoff news, but there's definitely a shift in the air. Project scopes are tightening, some hiring freezes are rumored to be in effect for non-critical roles, and the general 'hum' feels a little lower. Is anyone else at Amgen picking up on this? Or am I just overthinking things based on the general biotech climate? Curious to hear if others are seeing similar signs or if it's just my department/site. Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or just localized anxiety. If there's anything concrete anyone is aware of, please share (anonymously, of course). Just trying to prepare mentally, if nothing else. Appreciate any insights.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling something similar. It's subtle, not a full-blown crisis, but there's a palpable tension that wasn't there a year ago. Budgets feel tighter, and there's more scrutiny on every expense. It's like the 'go-go' days are on pause, and everyone's suddenly very risk-averse. Hope it's just a seasonal dip or a strategic recalibration, but it's hard to shake the feeling that things are being battened down.

I hear you. I've noticed the same. It’s less about dramatic news and more about the day-to-day grind. Things that used to be approved readily now require multiple layers of sign-off. Hiring has slowed to a crawl in my area, even for essential positions. It's creating some strain. Makes you wonder what the long-term strategy really is. Hopefully, it's just a temporary belt-tightening phase.
