Ansys - Is the Synopsys merger causing a hiring freeze?

I’ve been tracking open roles for a while now and noticed a massive dip in new listings over the last month. People keep saying it's business as usual, but the internal talk feels very different. I have a few friends in R&D who mentioned that project approvals are taking twice as long and budget sign-offs have basically vanished. Is anyone else seeing their teams being told to hold off on contractor renewals? It feels like we are in a 'wait and see' pattern until the deal hurdles are cleared, but the lack of communication is killing morale. I’m just trying to figure out if I should start updating my resume now or if I’m just reading too much into the typical end-of-quarter slowdown.

I’m seeing the exact same thing in my department. It’s definitely not just you. The silence from management is loud, and most of us are operating under the assumption that nothing new gets approved until the deal is officially finalized. It’s frustrating because we’re short-staffed and drowning in work, but HR just gives us the standard lines about pending transitions. Don’t expect any clarity until the regulatory hurdles are fully cleared, as the entire organization has clearly shifted into a defensive posture to keep the books looking clean for the merger.

Honestly, it’s refreshing to hear I’m not the only one noticing the stall. We’ve been trying to bring on two new engineers for months, and they just keep getting kicked down the road by 'budget review.' It feels like everything is frozen in place while the higher-ups wait to see which roles become redundant. My manager told me it’s a temporary pause, but with how long these things usually drag out, I’m not holding my breath. Just keep your options open if you were banking on immediate growth or new hires.
