Anyone else feeling a chill in the air regarding job security?

Just checking in with others at AOS. Been with the company for a few years now, and lately, there's been this…vibe. It’s subtle, not like any official announcements or anything, but you can feel it. Budgets seem tighter, less urgency on some 'priority' projects that were hot tickets a year ago. Heard a few people talking about 'efficiency drives' and 'streamlining operations' in hushed tones, which usually isn't a good sign. My department hasn't seen any direct impact yet, but the general mood feels a bit more anxious than usual. Performance reviews are also around the corner, and the messaging from leadership feels a bit more 'evaluate every role' than 'celebrate wins.' Anyone else picking up on this, or am I just overthinking things because Q3 wasn't stellar?

I hear what you're saying. I've definitely noticed a shift in the office atmosphere over the last couple of quarters. It feels like there's more scrutiny on spending and a general sense of 'watching the bottom line' that wasn't as pronounced before. The 'streamlining' talk is definitely a red flag for many of us who've been through these cycles at other companies. Hoping it's just a temporary adjustment phase and not a sign of deeper issues.

Yeah, the 'vibe' is palpable. It's that underlying hum of uncertainty that gets under your skin. Used to feel like growth was the main focus, now it feels more like 'maintain and consolidate'. My team's been asked to re-evaluate our 'essential' vs. 'nice-to-have' expenditures more rigorously. It's not panic stations yet, but it's certainly a topic of much water cooler conversation.
