I’m in the same boat. It feels like they are intentionally dragging their feet on the severance packages to wear everyone down until we stop asking questions. The lack of transparency from HR is honestly insulting given how many years people put into that plant. I sent my inquiry last week and haven't heard a single word back beyond the same automated email template. We shouldn't have to chase them for money that was contractually promised. Keep pushing back, because silence just makes it easier for them to cut corners.
That sounds about right for how they handle these transitions. They wait until the very last second to give any concrete details, hoping that people will just sign off on whatever is in front of them out of pure frustration. I’d suggest talking to a local employment lawyer if things don't clear up by the end of the week. Don't sign anything until you’ve had someone objective look at the fine print, especially regarding the benefit payouts. It’s a total mess, but you definitely aren’t the only one getting the runaround.
