AMAT - Anyone else feeling the squeeze?

Is it just me, or is there a noticeable slowdown at Applied Materials recently? Budgets seem tighter, hiring freezes are definitely in place for most non-critical roles, and there's a general sense of caution. I know the industry ebbs and flows, but with the current global economic outlook and the specific challenges facing chip manufacturing, I can't help but wonder if we're heading for a more significant 'right-sizing' event. Anyone else picking up on this vibe? Wondering if managers are being asked to identify potential redundancies or if it's just a general belt-tightening phase. Any intel from different departments would be appreciated.

Definitely feeling it too. The 'hustle culture' seems to be taking a backseat to 'cost-cutting'. It's understandable given the macro headwinds and the cyclical nature of our industry, but it's a noticeable shift from just a year or two ago. Makes you wonder about the long-term strategic planning. Hope it's just a temporary adjustment and not a sign of deeper issues.

Yeah, the vibe is definitely there. Seems like every request, big or small, is getting extra scrutiny. Projects that would have sailed through are now facing more questions. The 'do more with less' mantra is in full effect. I'm curious to see if this translates into actual performance metrics soon or if it's more of a precautionary measure.
