AMAT - Impact of export controls on hiring and future?

Hey folks, been seeing a lot of chatter around the US export restrictions affecting chipmakers. Obviously, AMAT is in a unique position as a key supplier. Has anyone in certain divisions noticed a significant slowdown in hiring or a freeze? It feels like even though there are no official layoff announcements, the long-term outlook might be getting a bit murky. I'm in R&D and we've definitely felt a tightening, with some projects getting re-evaluated and hiring being put on hold for roles that were open just a few months ago. Curious if others are seeing this or if it's department-specific. Also, any thoughts on how this might play out for AMAT in the next year or two? Are we looking at potential restructuring down the line if things don't pick up or stabilize?

I can confirm there's definitely a palpable slowdown. We're seeing fewer external requisitions being approved, and internal transfers are also becoming much more competitive. The focus seems to have shifted heavily towards retaining existing talent and prioritizing projects deemed absolutely critical, especially those with clear domestic customer engagement. It’s a noticeable change from the aggressive hiring seen even just a year ago. Management is being tight-lipped, but the message trickles down: be prepared for a more measured pace ahead. It's prudent to manage expectations and focus on skill development within current roles.
