AMAT - What's the outlook really looking like?

With the recent news about layoffs, I'm starting to get a bit worried about the long-term prospects at AMAT. I know the semiconductor industry is cyclical, and export restrictions are a huge factor right now, but it feels like more than just a cycle. Are we going to see more cuts? Is the backlog holding up, or are orders really drying up? I'm wondering if this is just a temporary correction or if we're in for a longer period of uncertainty. Curious to hear what others are hearing on the ground, especially from those closer to the product lines or sales.

I'm hearing similar concerns. The export restrictions are definitely a significant headwind, and it's hard to gauge the true impact on their order book versus the natural cyclicality. While AMAT has a strong position in critical areas of chip manufacturing, the geopolitical landscape introduces a layer of unpredictability that's difficult to model. Layoffs are never a good sign, and it suggests management sees a need to right-size for current conditions. I'm hoping the diversification into different chip segments provides some resilience, but it's a tense situation for sure.
