It feels like the standard playbook at this point. They keep using these corporate buzzwords to dress up what is clearly just a cost-cutting measure that leaves everyone else on edge. If you are in manufacturing, stay alert, because these waves rarely stay contained to just one location. It’s hard to stay focused when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder waiting for that surprise HR invite. Honestly, I think the China restrictions are just the convenient excuse they’ve been looking for to trim the headcount everywhere.
I’m sorry to hear about the Boca team. It really sucks when you get blindsided like that, especially with those vague emails about 'realigning resources' sent out right before the ax falls. At this stage, nobody should feel safe until the quarterly projections actually stabilize. The way management handles these departures is always cold and impersonal. Keep your resume polished and start checking your internal networks now, because you’re right—it definitely feels like more cuts are lurking around the corner for other divisions.
