Quiet period or just typical engineering churn?

Is anyone else feeling the shift in the office culture lately? I've been at Arista for a few years and usually, the vibe is pretty high-performance but relaxed. Lately, the stand-ups feel more like interrogations and the tracking on Jira tasks has gone from 'manageable' to 'micro-managed.' I'm hearing whispers about budget tightening for Q3 and Q4, and it feels like leadership is prepping us for something. Management keeps pushing the 'innovation' angle, but you can tell morale is dipping. Are people jumping ship, or am I just reading too much into the silence in the breakroom? Anyone hearing anything about internal reorgs or potential trimming?

It is definitely starting to feel like the honeymoon phase is over. I have noticed the exact same shift in management style, where everything has shifted from 'get the project done' to 'why isn't this ticket closed yet?' It feels like they are squeezing for efficiency to hit some aggressive quarterly targets, likely to keep the stock price propped up. The high-performance culture used to feel empowering, but now it just feels like constant pressure to justify your existence. Keep your eyes open for internal moves, but don't be surprised if the belt-tightening continues.

Honestly, I think you are reading too much into it. Engineering is just in a heavy cycle right now because of the push to dominate the AI networking space. When we fall behind on product roadmaps, leadership starts hovering more—that is standard operating procedure here. If you have been here for a few years, you know how Arista cycles work. It is not necessarily a sign of a larger collapse, just a temporary grind to ensure we don't cede market share to competitors. Stick to your tasks, document your work, and the heat usually dies down once the releases drop.
