Is the Gallagher culture actually changing?

I’ve been at AJG for a while, and honestly, the 'family' culture that everyone loves to talk about feels like it’s being slowly replaced by a corporate spreadsheet mentality. Every town hall lately is just focused on top-line growth and hitting these impossible new targets. The pressure to increase production without any additional support is becoming unsustainable. I’m starting to wonder if we’re heading toward a round of 'performance-based' layoffs to trim the fat and make the numbers look better for shareholders. It feels like they’re waiting for the slightest dip to justify cutting people who have been here for years. It’s frustrating because I used to love working here, but now it feels like I’m just a number they’re trying to optimize. Is anyone else feeling burnt out by the relentless focus on margins over actual employee retention? I’m starting to look at other brokerages just to see what’s out there.

I’ve noticed the same shift. The 'Gallagher Way' used to feel like a genuine guide for how we treat each other, but lately, it just feels like marketing fluff to distract us from the relentless pressure. Management is pushing harder than ever for organic growth, yet the resources to actually achieve those goals haven't moved an inch. It is incredibly frustrating to feel like a line item on a report rather than a valued team member. The transparency that once defined this place is rapidly evaporating.

Honestly, I think you're spot on with the 'performance-based' fear. Everyone is feeling the squeeze right now. It seems like the focus has shifted entirely to the bottom line, leaving the people who actually do the work to scramble while leadership celebrates higher profit margins. The constant talk about aggressive targets is sucking the energy out of the offices, and you can tell morale is hitting a low point. It is not the same environment it was even two years ago, and I am definitely looking elsewhere.
