Hearing rumors about a potential RIF at Astera. Anyone else?

Is it just me, or has the energy in the office felt incredibly tense lately? I’ve been hearing whispers through the grapevine about a potential RIF coming down the pipeline before the end of the quarter. Nothing official from leadership yet, and the last all-hands was just standard fluff about Q3 growth targets, but you can feel the anxiety in the Slack channels. My manager has been acting weirdly guarded during our 1:1s, and we’ve had a sudden freeze on some of the non-critical project approvals. I know we’ve been scaling aggressively, but the sector cooling off seems to be finally hitting home. Has anyone heard anything concrete from their VPs, or are we all just paranoid because the market is trash right now? Trying to figure out if I should start polishing the resume this weekend or if I’m just overreacting to the usual corporate uncertainty.

I've noticed the same shift in atmosphere. The silence from leadership is deafening, especially given the recent pivot in project focus. It feels like we're all walking on eggshells waiting for an email notification to drop. If they are planning a RIF, they need to be transparent instead of letting the speculation eat away at morale. The lack of clear communication is honestly more damaging than the rumors themselves at this point.

Look, the reality is that the market for our hardware is cooling, and budget tightening is happening across the industry. Those 'non-critical' project freezes are the first tell that the spreadsheets don't match the growth narrative from the last all-hands. Don't be naive—start updating your resume now just in case. It is better to be prepared and stay than to be blindsided when they finally announce the headcount reductions.
