Anyone else feeling uneasy at Atlassian lately? 😬

I've been at Atlassian for 4 years now, on the Jira Service Management team as a Senior Engineer. Things have been... weird, lately. The vibe is off. My skip-level has been asking a LOT of questions about our team's 'efficiency' and 'resource allocation'. They keep emphasizing the need to 'optimize' and 'do more with less.' It feels like they're laying the groundwork for something, you know? I know tech companies are always a bit volatile, but this feels different. Anyone else getting similar vibes? Should I be polishing up my resume? I really like it here, but I also have a mortgage to pay. Ugh.

Yep, feeling it too. I'm on the Bitbucket side and we've had similar conversations around 'streamlining workflows' which, let's be honest, usually translates to headcount reduction. Start polishing up that resume, just in case. Better to be prepared than blindsided. Document everything you do, especially any achievements or contributions that go above and beyond your regular duties. Good luck!

Honestly, I'm not seeing it as much on my team (Confluence), but I also know that these things can vary wildly across departments. Maybe your skip-level is just genuinely trying to improve processes? Four years is a long time these days, and companies need to stay competitive. Don't panic just yet, but definitely keep an ear to the ground and trust your gut. If something feels off, it probably is.
