Wow. Today was rough. Got the notification that I'm part of the ~1600 people Atlassian is letting go. It's a gut punch, no two ways about it. Trying to process everything right now. The company comms are talking about refocusing strategy and investing in growth areas, which sounds corporate-speak for 'we're cutting costs.' The timing is also interesting, right before the end of Q2. Feels like a really sudden and significant reduction. Has anyone else here been through this at Atlassian, or another company recently? What was your experience like? Right now, it's just a lot of shock and disappointment. Wondering what the next steps will be and how long the severance/support will last. Trying to stay positive but it's hard.

This is truly terrible news. My deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by these layoffs. It's incredibly difficult to navigate such a significant change, especially when it comes unexpectedly. The company's future strategic shifts are less relevant than the immediate impact on so many talented individuals.
