Layoff PTSD is real... how are you coping?

Just trying to gauge how everyone else is doing after the latest round of cuts. I made it through (knock on wood), but seeing so many talented people go, especially friends I've worked with for years, has been brutal. I'm on the Jira Cloud team, been here almost 7 years, and it feels like the soul of the place is changing. I feel guilty being here when others lost their jobs. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, like maybe *I'm* next. Anyone else feeling this way? What are you doing to cope? More therapy? Just burying yourselves in work? Distracting myself with hobbies?

Yeah, I totally get that survivor's guilt. It's rough. I'm on Confluence Server, thankfully safe this time, but two rounds ago I was sweating bullets. Honestly, I've been focusing on what I *can* control. Documenting everything I do, making sure my skills are up-to-date on LinkedIn, and networking internally and externally. It helps to feel like I'm taking proactive steps, even if it's just a mental thing. Don't wallow too much, celebrate that you are still there, but take precautions.

Honestly, this is just corporate life. I've been through worse at other places. Atlassian's still a decent company overall. They have to adjust to market conditions, and layoffs are unfortunately part of that. Get your head down, do your job well, and stop overthinking it. Startups are much worse. If you don't like it, there's a lot of opportunities out there. If you are gonna stay, work hard and hope for the best instead of fretting.
