Severance package - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, what does Atlassian typically offer in terms of severance? I've heard it varies wildly depending on your role and tenure. I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what the financial cushion would look like if the worst happens. I've been seeing some news about other tech companies and the packages they are giving out, and it seems all over the place. I'm in product management, and have been here for about 3 years. Any insights appreciated!

Hey, it's tough to say for sure. I've heard generally 2 weeks per year of service is a decent starting point, plus any accrued vacation time. Product management roles might get a bit more negotiation room, especially if you have a specialized skill set. Definitely consult with an employment lawyer if you get an offer, they can help you understand your rights and potentially negotiate a better package. Good luck!

Honestly, temper your expectations. While Atlassian *can* be generous, don't assume you'll get some massive windfall. Three years might get you a few months, but nothing like the packages I've seen reported at Meta or Google. Focus on polishing your resume *now* and networking. A new job offer is the best severance package. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
