So much for the 'Team Anywhere' culture

It’s funny looking back at the internal messaging about flexibility and how we’re a 'family' when they cut 1,600 people with a boilerplate email template. The corporate gloss has completely worn off. How can they justify this when the stock price is where it is? It feels like the executives are just shuffling people around like spreadsheet cells to see what happens. I’m tired of the town halls where they spend forty minutes talking about long-term vision while ignoring the fact that our actual colleagues are getting kicked to the curb. Is anyone actually buying the 'strategic shift' narrative? Because from where I’m sitting, this is just a cost-cutting measure disguised as innovation. If you’re still here, keep your head down and your LinkedIn updated. I’m honestly just counting the days until my vesting schedule hits so I can jump ship. This place isn't the same company it was two years ago.

The dissonance between the 'Team Anywhere' marketing and the reality of mass layoffs is stark. It’s hard to trust leadership when they pivot so abruptly from promoting employee autonomy to treating people like disposable overhead. When executives prioritize satisfying Wall Street metrics over the stability of the people actually building the product, the company culture inevitably starts to hollow out. It’s no surprise that morale is hitting rock bottom when the transparency is only one-way.

Honestly, I stopped listening to those town halls a long time ago. It’s always the same script: talk about the grand vision and the future of collaboration, while the people who have been doing the work are being shown the door. Atlassian used to feel different, but now it’s just another tech giant chasing short-term margins. If you aren't looking at your career as a strictly transactional arrangement at this point, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Protect your own interests.
