Feeling the pressure in operations lately

The way management is pushing for aggressive cost-cutting right now is absolutely exhausting. They expect us to maintain the same level of service and store presentation while cutting hours and pushing more automated workflows that frankly just don't work. It’s like they expect us to do the job of three people for the same pay. I’m tired of the constant threat of 're-evaluating our needs' hanging over our heads every time we have a town hall. We’re losing good people who are tired of being treated like a line item on a spreadsheet that needs to be minimized. The morale in our district is at an all-time low, and yet corporate keeps sending down these performative emails about 'company culture' and 'thriving together.' Give me a break. If you’re planning on laying us off, just rip the band-aid off so we can actually plan our lives instead of living in this constant state of anxiety. It feels like they’re running us into the ground before they eventually cut the roles. Anyone else feeling like the burnout is becoming impossible to manage?

It is the same old story at Auchan. They prioritize these aggressive margins on paper while ignoring the fact that the actual floor experience is cratering. I have watched so many experienced staff walk out the door because they are burnt out from doing the work of multiple people for stagnant pay. Management seems to think that automation and self-checkouts are magic solutions, but they just create more frustration for customers and more chaos for whoever is left on the floor. It is definitely time to start looking elsewhere.
