New Boston site cuts - who is next?

Saw the WARN notice for New Boston drop today. 75 people gone just like that. It’s always the same story with leadership—they talk about ‘strategic realignment’ while the rest of us are left holding the bag wondering if our department is on the chopping block next. Does anyone have actual intel on whether this is it for the MI site, or is this just the first wave of a broader consolidation? I’ve been here for five years and the anxiety is becoming impossible to manage. My manager is acting like everything is normal, but the energy in the office is absolutely dead. If you’re in New Boston, stay strong. For the rest of us, keep your resume updated because ADP has clearly decided that hitting quarterly targets is more important than retention or stability.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but don't expect honesty from management. They keep the 'strategic realignment' talk vague intentionally to keep people working until the very end. The reality is that once the WARN notices start hitting, it usually signals a larger wave of consolidation across the region. If you have five years in, check your severance package details now and start updating your resume immediately. It’s better to be prepared and find a landing spot than to wait around for a meeting that might never give you the answers you deserve.

At ADP, the 'strategic realignment' phrase is basically corporate speak for cutting costs to appease shareholders. It’s never just one wave. If they’re trimming in New Boston, they’re looking at the balance sheets of every other site right now. Don't waste your energy looking for intel from your manager; they often don't know anything until the morning of, or they’re instructed to stay quiet to prevent a mass exodus. Focus on your own exit strategy. Keep your head down, save what you can, and make sure your internal network is solid before the next round of cuts hits.
