Yeah, I've definitely seen something similar here at Ball, though maybe not a full freeze. It feels more like a significant prioritization shift. A lot of roles that would have been posted a few months ago are now under review or have been put on the back burner. My manager mentioned budget constraints impacting new headcount, so it's likely more than just seasonal. It's creating some extra pressure on existing teams to pick up the slack. Curious to hear if anyone's heard anything concrete from leadership about the long-term hiring strategy.
Interesting to hear you're seeing a slowdown too. My experience at Ball aligns with what you're describing. While I haven't heard the term 'freeze' explicitly, the pace of approvals for new hires has definitely slowed to a crawl. We had a couple of positions that were supposedly 'imminent' get pushed back indefinitely. It does make you wonder if the economic climate is prompting a more conservative approach to expansion. I'm hoping it's a temporary adjustment, but it's definitely noticeable compared to last year.
