Ball Corp - Feeling the pressure, anyone else?

Been working at Ball for a while now, and honestly, things have felt a bit tense these past few months. It's not a 'layoff is happening tomorrow' kind of feeling, more like a 'we need to be more efficient and cuts might be coming' vibe. Projects are being scrutinized more, budgets seem tighter, and there's definitely a focus on optimizing everything. I've noticed fewer new hires in some areas, and some projects that were greenlit seem to be on the back burner. Management's messaging is all about 'strategic realignment' and 'operational excellence,' which is corporate speak for 'watch your step.' I'm not looking to spread rumors, but I'm also not oblivious to the signals. Anyone else picking up on this? Is it just my department, or is this a broader trend across Ball? Would be good to know if I'm overthinking this or if others are feeling the same squeeze. Just looking for some shared experiences.

I hear you. The general economic climate probably isn't helping, and the push for efficiency is noticeable across many industries right now. It’s tough when you feel that undercurrent of uncertainty. Hope things stabilize soon and the focus shifts back to growth rather than just cost-cutting.

Yeah, that efficiency push is real. It feels like every decision is being weighed against its bottom-line impact. I've seen similar shifts in other departments – more oversight, less room for experimentation. Just hoping it leads to a stronger company long-term, but the short-term anxiety is definitely present.
