December cuts: Anyone else caught in the 12/18 wave?

Just saw the WARN notice for the 33 folks being let go in December. I’ve been hearing whispers about headcount reductions across the packaging divisions for months, but seeing the official notice hit the state site makes it feel way more real. Is this just the end-of-year budget cleanup, or are we looking at a sustained downsizing trend for Q1 2026? I’m trying to figure out if this is isolated to specific site overhead or if they’re carving out middle management again. The silence from leadership has been deafening lately. If you’re one of the 33, I’m genuinely sorry. The job market is already brutal, and trying to land something between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a special kind of hell. Anyone have intel on whether severance packages are still holding steady or if they’ve started tightening the belt there too? Stay safe out there.

It’s definitely not just a year-end cleanup. The company has been aggressively trimming fat in middle management for a while now to inflate those margins, and it looks like they’re just getting started. If you’re seeing these patterns across multiple divisions, it’s a clear sign of a broader structural shift rather than isolated site issues. Expect more of the same throughout Q1 as they continue to prioritize leaner operations over stability. I wouldn’t wait for an official announcement to start looking elsewhere.
