Leadership disconnect: Are we still pretending this is growth?

I’ve been at Ball for five years, and the morale in my department is at an all-time low. Every town hall is just a lecture on 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining our core assets,' but all that translates to is doing the job of three people for the same salary. Now we’ve got another 33 people out the door in December? The math doesn't add up. We are shipping jobs out or killing roles while the executive team talks about 'innovative packaging solutions' like we aren't all seeing the writing on the wall. Is anyone else feeling like the leadership team has completely detached from reality? I’m exhausted, and I know I’m not the only one looking for an exit strategy.

I feel your frustration completely. It seems like the executive team is living in a different reality than the rest of us on the floor. Every quarter is the same corporate jargon about efficiency, while the actual workload just piles up until everyone is burnt out. It’s impossible to feel motivated when your coworkers are being pushed out the door right before the holidays. They talk about innovation, but it feels like they’re just cutting corners to keep the stock price propped up while the culture crumbles.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while now. They keep selling the 'core assets' vision, but it's clear the strategy is just to strip everything down until there’s nothing left but automated lines and empty offices. Watching 33 people get cut in December isn't just a business decision; it’s a complete lack of regard for the people who built this company. At this point, the disconnect between management and the actual work being done is so wide that no amount of town hall polish is going to fix the trust issues.
