BoA internal cloud build - anyone else seeing impact?

Just saw that article about BoA saving $2B/year by building their own cloud. Interesting timing. With the company always looking to optimize, I'm wondering if this internal build-out is starting to translate into actual headcount reductions. Has anyone in tech, ops, or even business lines seen any shifts or whispers related to this? Like, are teams being consolidated or are certain roles being phased out because capabilities are now being handled in-house? Not seeing any official layoff news, but this feels like a potential efficiency play that could have ripple effects. Curious to hear if anyone has direct experience or insights. This could be a long game for efficiency, or it could be a precursor to something more significant. Thoughts?

The internal cloud initiative is definitely a hot topic. While the cost savings are impressive, it's natural to wonder about the ripple effects on the workforce. It's possible that as in-house capabilities grow, certain external dependencies or even specialized internal roles might be re-evaluated. Keep an eye on team structures and project allocations; sometimes changes are subtle before they become official. Anecdotally, I've heard that some data engineering tasks are being brought in-house, which could impact vendors or contractors in that space.
