Is anyone else seeing a hiring freeze trickle down to non-tech roles?

So, my team in corporate banking just had two open positions for junior analysts that were posted for weeks, and now they've just been taken down. HR confirmed we're still 'under review' for headcount, which sounds like a fancy way of saying no. It's not just tech getting hit, feels like it's spreading. Been here 4 years, and this is the first time I've seen it impact our area this directly. Anyone else in a similar boat outside of the usual suspects?

Yeah, it's definitely not just tech. Heard similar rumblings from a friend in marketing ops at BoA. Positions that were open for months suddenly disappeared, and the official line is 'budget review.' Seems like they're tightening up across the board, even for roles that aren't directly client-facing or revenue-generating. Hang in there, hopefully, it's a temporary situation.

I'm not so sure it's a full-blown freeze. Could be a strategic reallocation of resources or just a temporary hold while they figure out priorities for the next quarter. HR often uses vague language. I'd keep an eye on it, and maybe check in with your manager in a month or so to see if there's any update. Sometimes these things are just bureaucratic delays.
