Just saw a bunch of people escorted out of the building downtown - anyone know what's up??

I work in the downtown office, and I just saw like, five or six people being escorted out by security. They were carrying boxes, and looked pretty upset. I didn't recognize any of them, but it was definitely a weird scene. They were all coming from the same floor, which I *think* is part of the wealth management division? Anyone have any intel? Are the cuts finally starting? I'm on edge here, been with the company for 7 years and have a mortgage to pay!

Sounds rough, man. Layoffs always feel looming, especially with the way the economy's been. Seven years is a long time, though, that should count for something. Maybe brush up your resume just in case, but try not to stress too much until you hear something concrete. Good luck!

Wealth management, huh? Probably just a compliance thing. Happens all the time. Someone probably messed up some paperwork or didn't follow protocol. It's ALWAYS paperwork. Unless you're directly involved, I wouldn't worry about it. People jump to conclusions way too fast.
