Wondering about career paths and stability at BBW

Been thinking a lot about my future at Bath & Body Works lately. I enjoy the work most days, and the product is fun, but I'm starting to wonder about long-term stability and career growth, especially with all the talk online about retail in general. It feels like there's a lot of churn, and I'm not always sure what the path forward looks like beyond becoming an assistant manager. Are there opportunities to move into corporate or other departments? Has anyone successfully transitioned? Also, wondering about salary increases - does it feel like people are getting fair raises that keep up with the cost of living? Just trying to get a better understanding of the bigger picture. Any advice or experiences would be helpful.

I've been with BBW for a few years now and can relate to your concerns. While retail can feel uncertain, I've seen people move into corporate roles, particularly in merchandising and buying, after gaining experience in stores. Networking internally and expressing your interest to your district manager can open doors. Don't be afraid to seek out mentors who have made similar transitions – their insights are invaluable for navigating the company structure.

It's totally valid to think about career progression! While the path to management is clear, there are definitely other avenues. I've seen former store associates move into roles like visual merchandising specialists or even regional training positions. It often comes down to demonstrating strong skills, taking initiative on projects beyond your typical duties, and being vocal about your aspirations during performance reviews. Keep an eye on internal job postings and don't underestimate the value of your hands-on retail experience.
