I hear you. The 'walking on eggshells' feeling is exactly right. It's tough to stay focused and motivated when there's so much uncertainty hanging over everyone's heads. The increased workload on top of that stress is a recipe for burnout. It feels like the company is trying to do more with less, and the employees are the ones bearing the brunt of it. Hopefully, management will address these concerns soon and provide some clarity.
This is a tough situation. It's completely understandable to feel anxious when layoffs have happened elsewhere in the company. The constant 'what if' can really wear you down. It's a strange paradox to have your workload increase while also worrying about job security. The focus on 'efficiency' can feel like a euphemism for cost-cutting that puts more pressure on the remaining staff. Hopefully, things will stabilize soon and the anxiety will subside.
