It is exhausting to watch the culture slide downhill like this. I have been at BD for a few years and the shift is palpable. Leadership talks about efficiency and growth, but all we see is the constant fear of the next round of layoffs. It is nearly impossible to maintain any morale when your desk neighbors are suddenly gone and you are expected to pick up their slack without any additional support. The 'optimization' buzzwords have become a shorthand for burnout, and I honestly think they are going to push the talent they have left right out the door.
I am right there with you. That five-year mark used to mean job security, but now it just feels like you have a bigger target on your back because of your salary. The constant uncertainty makes it impossible to invest in long-term projects when you are waiting for the next email about restructuring. Everyone is just looking over their shoulder instead of doing their actual jobs. I have started updating my resume because this environment is no longer sustainable. We are all just waiting for the next shoe to drop while management pretends everything is business as usual.
