Heard some whispers about certain divisions being consolidated or under review. I work in manufacturing, and we've had some 'efficiency' meetings that felt a bit too corporate-speak for my liking. They always talk about 'optimizing' and 'streamlining,' but it feels like a prelude to something bigger. Has anyone experienced or heard of any concrete actions being taken, like hiring freezes, reduced budgets, or even targeted performance reviews that seem a bit aggressive? I'm in R&D, and we haven't heard anything concrete about a major restructure or layoffs. It's true there's always talk about optimizing processes, but that's standard business practice. Unless there's a formal announcement or more direct communication from leadership, I'd caution against reading too much into the 'whispers.' It's easy for a few disconnected conversations to snowball into something much larger online.
