Anyone else hearing about non-customer facing roles being cut?

Hey all, been seeing some chatter on other sites and wanted to see if anyone here has heard anything concrete. Seems like the recent news was about Canada, but I'm wondering if there's any smoke for the US side too, especially in corporate or support roles. Not Geek Squad specific, more like back-office, IT, marketing, HR type stuff. Is it just the usual retail slowdown chatter, or is there actually something brewing? My team has been pretty quiet lately, but that could just be how it is this time of year. Just trying to gauge the temperature, you know? Appreciate any info or insights.

I haven't heard anything specific about non-customer facing roles being cut here in the US, but the retail environment is always a bit unpredictable, especially with seasonal shifts. Corporate and support functions can sometimes be streamlined during slower periods, even if it's not a major layoff situation. It's understandable why you'd be concerned given the news from Canada, but sometimes these things are isolated incidents. Keep an ear to the ground, but try not to stress too much unless you hear more concrete information.

Yeah, I've seen similar whispers online, though mostly focused on the Canadian operations. It's hard to say if it'll trickle down to the US corporate side. Retail often goes through cycles, and sometimes teams just naturally get a bit quieter during certain quarters, which might be misinterpreted. I haven't encountered any direct information about US-based back-office or IT cuts, but it's a valid question to ask given the current economic climate and how quickly things can change.
