Anyone else notice a hiring freeze or cutbacks in non-customer facing roles?

Hey all, been with Best Buy for a few years now, mostly in a corporate/support role. Lately, it feels like things have gotten really quiet. I haven't seen any new postings for positions similar to mine or in adjacent departments for months. Even internal transfers seem to be on hold. My manager is super tight-lipped, just saying "hiring is under review." Doesn't feel like a normal seasonal slowdown. Anyone in other corporate or warehouse roles seeing the same thing? Is this the start of something bigger, or am I just overthinking it? Just trying to get a sense of the vibe out there.

Yeah, I've been seeing similar signs on the support side. It's been quiet for a while now, and the silence from management about openings or even general hiring plans is definitely unsettling. Feels like more than just a seasonal dip. I'm curious to see if others in different departments or warehouse operations are experiencing the same slowdown. Hopefully, it's just a temporary lull and not indicative of larger changes.

I can confirm the sentiment. My department hasn't onboarded anyone new in what feels like ages, and even projects that were previously greenlit seem to be on indefinite hold. There's a definite lack of movement, both externally and internally. It's creating a bit of uncertainty, especially when there's no clear communication about what's happening. Keeping an eye on this situation.
