Best Buy store staff - sensing a shift?

Hey everyone, been with BBY retail for a few years now, mostly at the store level. Lately, I've been feeling a weird vibe. Hours seem to be tightening up for some folks, and there's been a lot more talk about 'efficiency' and 'optimizing labor costs' in team meetings. It's not a formal announcement or anything concrete, but the general atmosphere feels... unsettled. Anyone else in a similar boat? Seeing fewer people scheduled, maybe more pressure to upsell or push protection plans? Just trying to gauge if this is a widespread feeling or if my store is an anomaly. Trying not to panic, but it's hard not to notice when things feel different.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It feels like they're trying to squeeze every drop out of the current staff before making any big changes. The 'efficiency' talk is definitely code for 'do more with less.' My hours haven't been cut yet, but I'm stocking up on snacks for my desk just in case. Keep your eyes and ears open.

Interesting you bring this up. I'm in a different department, but the buzz about 'optimization' has reached us too. Seems like a company-wide push. The pressure to hit certain metrics definitely feels higher than it used to. Hope it doesn't lead to a mass exodus, the people who are good at their jobs are what make the place tolerable.
