Is anyone actually hitting these 'Total Tech' goals anymore?

I’m genuinely curious how my fellow blue shirts are handling the insane pressure from corporate regarding memberships and credit apps. It feels like every week the goalposts move further out, regardless of actual foot traffic in the store. We’re losing customers left and right because we’re forced to pitch products they don’t need, and then management acts shocked when our NPS scores crater. I’ve been with the company for a few years now, and the shift from 'helping the customer' to 'extracting maximum value per transaction' is honestly exhausting. It’s hard to stay motivated when you know management is just looking for a reason to justify cutting headcount if we don't hit some arbitrary target that changes every quarter. I’m spending half my shift worrying about my numbers and the other half dreading the inevitable email about 'aligning our workforce with current business needs.' At what point does the store environment become completely untenable? It feels like we're just waiting for the next round of cuts to solve the budget problems created by bad corporate strategy.

It is honestly exhausting. I spend half my shift calculating how to pivot a conversation toward a membership while the customer is clearly just trying to buy a charging cable. The management team treats every decline like a personal failure, ignoring the fact that our local market is tapped out. We aren't consultants anymore; we are just glorified pushy salespeople, and it shows in the way regulars avoid us now. I’m just waiting for a better opportunity to jump ship because this culture of constant extraction is burning everyone out.

I remember when we actually focused on solutions, but those days feel like a distant memory. Now, if your metrics aren't perfect, you’re subjected to 'coaching' that is really just veiled threats about job security. It’s impossible to maintain a high NPS when every interaction feels like a transaction where we’re hunting for their wallet. The corporate folks have no idea what it’s like on the floor when you're dealing with frustrated customers who know they're being sold to instead of helped. It’s just a numbers game now, and we’re all losing.
